Memorable Visuals: Using Charts, Images & Figures to Maximum Effect in English (Online-Seminar)

This mini-webinar provides you with training and practice in using visual aids effectively and memorably. You will learn techniques to avoid ‘suislide’ and ensure that your visuals stand out from the crowd for positive (rather than negative) reasons. In addition, you will acquire the linguistic structures to capture the audience’s attention, comment on the significance of your slides, and to describe them with richer vocabulary. In order to make the webinar as practical as possible, participants will be encouraged towards the end of the webinar to apply their learning by considering how they could (re-)design more impactful slides for one of their own lectures.

Goals:

After completing the seminar, the participants will

  • Use visual aids more memorably so that they make an impact
  • Be able to work with their visuals, not against them
  • Have a range of linguistic structures to comment on visual aids

Participants should have at least level B2 in English.
