How to identify and use digital tools for learning and teaching? [DiL]
In this course you get an overview about possible digital tools for learning and teaching. We will discuss, how you can identify useful tools for your teaching out of a broad offer of digital tools. Furthermore, we will evaluate the use of digital elements in your lectures and also talk about aspects, you have to keep in mind when using them. The following contents are part of this online workshop:
- Differences between online learning, blended learning, and synchronous learning
- Infrastructure for digital teaching and learning: LMS „Moodle“ and video conference systems
- Tools for asynchronous learning: Quizzes, learning packages (with H5P and learning videos)
- Tools for synchronous learning: Kahoot, mentimeter, Flinga, Padlet, Trello, Miro
- Beyond classic video conferences with certain apps
Learning Outcomes:
After visiting the seminar you should be able to
- Explain the differences between blended, synchronous and asynchronous learning
- Name possibilites of Moodle and videoconference systems
- Get an overview about useful digital tools for learning and teaching
- Use some important digital tools for learning and teaching
- Evaluate which tool is useful for different purposes in teaching and learning
- Describe the possibilites of VR in higher education
