[DiL kompakt] Introduction to the Inverted/Flipped Classroom
The Inverted Classroom (also known as "Flipped Classroom") is an instructional format that combines online self-learning phases with in-person sessions. Activities primarily focused on knowledge acquisition (such as instructional videos, podcasts, teaching presentations) are placed within a self-learning phase. During the online in-person phase with the learning group, time is dedicated to deeper engagement through discussions, group work, or practical exercises.
Goal
In this live online seminar workshop, we will explore how an existing course or lecture can be designed as an Inverted Classroom.
Content
- Fundamentals and formats of the Inverted/Flipped Classroom.
- Ideas for implementing the Inverted/FlippedClassroom.
- Quick implementation of your own course concept: preparation and online in-person phase
Learning objectives
After the seminar, participants can...
- Understand the fundamentals of the Inverted/FlippedClassroom.
- implement a basic Inverted/FlippedClassroom approach in their teaching.
