Certificate program “Future-oriented university teaching through technology integration” [DiL]

Do you feel that your teaching isn’t yet truly future-oriented, and that you don’t fully understand or utilize the full potential of digital tools to support students’ learning processes? Then this Bayreuth-specific certificate program is exactly what you need. The program aims to serve as a guide to future-oriented university teaching and consists of the following three main components:

  • Individual professional development in the areas of higher education pedagogy and technology integration in teaching, in the form of counseling sessions, attendance at PLP workshops, online learning materials, and optional exchange meetings with colleagues.
  • The development, implementation, and evaluation of your own teaching project with a focus on integrating selected technologies to design competency-based instructio
  • The publication of a Scholarship of Learning and Teaching paper or a digital teaching project poster. Here you can get a glimpse of previously published projects: https://epub.uni-bayreuth.de/view/divisions/525000.html

The certificate program comprises at least 60 credit hours, depending on the scope of the individual teaching project and the desired format of publication. Examples of possible teaching projects include:

  • Using a digital tool to promote collaboration or interaction during a seminar session
  • Implementing a flipped classroom approach for a selected seminar
  • Designing a 360° teaching-learning scenario
  • Creating your own instructional video or other teaching-learning materials
  • Integrating OER materials into teaching
  • Promoting competency-based learning processes through the use of AI

A personal e-portfolio guides you effectively through the certificate program. Through this program, you can have your efforts in designing and implementing future-oriented teaching and learning ideas through technology integration certified, and you will also receive personalized and expert guidance. In addition, we support you in publishing your teaching and research findings.
