Higher Education Pedagogy

ProLehre | Media & Didactics is the department for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at the Technische Universität München. We focus on supporting faculty with respect to their teaching. We provide an extensive Continuing Education Program with a variety of offers for lecturers to further enhance their teaching skills, such as workshops, teaching consultations or general advice. With ProfiLehrePLUS, ProLehre | Media & Didactics enhances its training-offer and participates at the conversion of a Bavarian-wide unified system for certificates in higher education pedagogy.

Members of all Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences can use the Continuing Education Program of ProLehre | Media & Didactics and benefit of its over two decades long experience. Above that the TUM engages in the committee of ProfiLehrePlus and therefore supports the exchange of knowledge and resources in a Bavarian wide network. This focuses on creating unified quality standards in an efficient and goal-oriented way.

The TUM contributes to the project with a comprehensive promotion of teaching culture – Bavaria-wide as well as TUM-internally; the workshops facilitated by the project expand and enrich the extensive training program of ProLehre | Media & Didactics. This program focuses on individual training, university-wide workshops as well as faculty specific offers. Individual coaching and peer consultations complete the offer and cover the needs of the teaching and learning community.  Following the basic principle of a learner-oriented teaching philosophy at the TUM with its motto: “Excellence in Teaching and Learning”, ProLehre | Media & Didactics shapes the Continuing Education Program in close coordination with the students. An extensive evaluation secures the ongoing optimization of our offers.
